Rubrics can be used to require reviews on criteria attempts within a certification. To account for unique review requirements, depending on the learning activity, reviews can be required for single completion criteria or progress based (multiple attempt) criteria. The rubrics utilize the authored content builder, allowing for more granular feedback. For example, it can be setup to require a manager to complete a form including open text feedback or multiple choice options to rate/provide feedback when reviewing a learner's submission.
An example where a rubric may be useful: As part of a certification, learners are required to submit a scenario response displaying their understanding on a specific product or topic. Admins can associate a rubric that requires a manager to review specific aspects of that submission, from message delivery, understanding, areas covered, etc.
Rubrics can be found within the Certification add-on.
To create a rubric
- For additional details on the authored content builder see Admin - Authored Content
- Navigate to the Certifications tab (add-on must be enabled)
- Select Rubrics
- Select Create (+)
- Add a Title, description (optional), and determine if there is a passing threshold
- If a passing threshold is set the rubric review will automatically approve or reject depending on the review score
- Select the Build tab (left navigation)
- Create a rubric using options like short or long answer and multiple choice
Rubric visibility
- Rubrics will be visible to learners, coaches, and admins. Only those completing the review (coach or admin) will be able to update the form.
- Once the rubric review is completed learners, coaches, and admins can view the feedback left in the review.
To apply a rubric to a criteria:
- Content must be added to the criteria
- Criteria Approval must be enabled
- Attempt review for each attempt must be enabled
- Once those conditions are met the Enable rubric option is available
- You can select the add (+) button and then select a rubric that's been created
