Roles
- Content owners and Super Admins can archive and delete content
Overview
The Content Archiving feature provides access for the removal of obsolete or outdated content. When content is archived, it's eliminated from all primary locations, including lessons, learning paths, and folders. Retaining access will allow you to reference historical records while ensuring the content that's accessible is up-to-date. Once archived, content can be permanently deleted, if necessary.
Archiving content
The archive action can be found within the 3-dot context menu in both the Admin > Content table and the content detail page.
What happens when content is archived?
- It removes the item from all of the locations it's currently found in such as within an announcement, collection, or lesson.
- It's important to note that if you choose to restore the content later it will not be placed back in the location(s) it was removed from.
- Tags, custom fields, and groups are removed
- Learners will maintain access to their learning records but not be able to view the content
- It will be removed from all content reports
Viewing archived content
Once content is archived, it can be found in the Archived tab, which will be visible to Super admins and content owners.
Restoring and Deleting
Once archived, content can remain in this state indefinitely. You can also restore it or delete it.
- Restoring the item will add it back to the Admin > Content catalog. It will not regain the tags, custom fields, and groups that were removed when it was archived.
- Deleting the item will permanently remove it from the application. The learning records created will be retained but will only be accessible when viewing a specific learner's records
