When you create a content item, ownership of that content defaults to you. Ownership provides access for viewing, editing, and deleting an item even if you don't have group access it. All content items permit Admins to transfer ownership to another Admin.
How transfer ownership during the creation process
When viewing Content Banners, Collections, Folders, Content Items, or Announcements:
- Select the create action icon. It looks like this: +
- In the Details tab, select Transfer Ownership…
- Select Continue.
- Select an eligible user (another Admin within your groups).
- Select Transfer.
How to transfer ownership during the editing process
When in editing mode for Content Banners, Collections, Folders, Content Items, or Announcements:
- In the Details tab, select Transfer Ownership…
- Select Continue.
- Select an eligible user (another Admin within your groups).
- Select Transfer.
Note: If you transfer ownership and are not in an edit access group associated with the item you will lose the ability to access it. So transfer wisely! Also know that only Owners or Super Admins can delete content and folders.
